Getting the Lay of the Land

That first summer I mainly wandered around the property, noticing where the light fell and where the land made natural paths. I wanted to get something in the ground that first year, but I wouldn't see the results of my planning until next year.

I chose a bed of daffodils for the far right corner and a raised stone bed in the far left corner.
